I read this column in the latest issue of Wired magazine, and it made me smile. The author dropped off her dog at one of California's Wag hotels, a 24/7/365 hotel for dogs (cats can stay, too). The first Wag opened in 2006 in Sacramento as a state-of-the-art home away from home for dogs when their owners head out of town, or just need a night alone. Dogs can enjoy play groups, swims in the pool, belly massages and much more. Owners can even peek in on their beloved pets via webcam while they're away. According to the column, it seems the Wag staff stops in and visits the pets frequently - but frequently enough? Though I'm just a dog lover from afar, if I did have a pet, this would be something I would love to see in the Twin Cities. What do you think? Where do you leave Fido or Fluffy while you're away? Do our pets, like us, deserve the best in hospitality?
