The New York Times has an interesting story today about how hotels are leaving no detail to chance when it comes to pleasing customers. One detail often overlooked is sound.
Noise abatement is a big deal, especially to luxury hotel brands that promise the ultimate in service. Hotels, it seems, are taking advantage of some of the latest construction techniques to keep the sound away. "You’re paying for a decent hotel and you’re hearing the people in the next room talk about what they’ll have for breakfast? That’s unacceptable," says Lahnie Johnson, CEO of Acoustiblok, a noise abatement construction company. "You should be able to expect some privacy."
