Happy Birthday Minnesota!
Yesterday, Minnesota officially turned 150 years old. We've been celebrating all month long (all year, really), but this week is officially Statehood week. Several events are taking place this week, from Winona to Bemidji. For a complete list of events, head to the Sesquicentennial Web site.
This weekend (May 17 & 18) a huge celebration takes place at the Capitol, including music, food, exhibitions, National Guard flyovers and the issue of Minnesota's Commemorative Statehood Postage Stamp. For more info of the weekend's events, click here.
It also happens to be National Tourism Week, a chance to salute travel and tourism in the United States. In celebration for its 25th anniversary, this year's theme is "Discover Great American Traditions."
